Here are some of the resources that I use in my classroom.
Teachers Pay Teachers: Is a great hosting site that allows educators to create and upload anything classroom related to the site to either be downloaded for free, or purchased. It is a great way to connect with other educators, get creative ideas, and help to support fellow teachers! It allows you to search through thousands of products by narrowing down your search by grade, subject, theme, and price which can be very handy. Not only does it have lesson and unit plans, but it also has classroom decorations, activity and work center ideas, PowerPoint presentations, bulletin board ideas, and even teacher professional development resources.
Scholastic: The online version of the popular book ordering company has many teacher resources available free. It has printables, activities for students, videos, and even special offers on materials to be ordered for the classroom.
Discovery Education: is a product of the Discovery channel and has online resources for teachers, including printable lesson plans, science experiments, worksheets, and videos for classroom use.
PreKinders: is a great website/blog that has many resources for preschool teachers. There are classroom design/layout plans, learning centers, lesson plans, assessments, teaching tips, and much much more! I especially love the fact that it is a site made by a preschool teacher, for other preschool teachers.
YouTube: I love youtube, and use it nearly daily in my classroom (although you do need to be careful and prescreen videos prior to playing as not all videos are children friendly!) I find it most useful for brain breaks, digital stories, educational songs, relaxation music and techniques for children, and occasionally to introduce a new topic that.
Adventure to Fitness: This is one of my absolute favorite teacher resources available to date. It is a video exercise/gym experience for students to be used in the classroom and is especially useful on rainy days. Each video features Mr. Marc and his friends as they go on educational adventures. Students have the opportunity to run, jump, jog, lift their arms, etc. in place while actively engaging in a learning experience with the characters all from the comfort of your classroom. While the educational topics are geared more towards the 2-5 grade ranges, I find that even my younger learners enjoy copying Mr. Marc and "seeing the sights." Educators have access to a sample of free videos with the option of purchasing additional episodes or a membership. I have always found it sufficient to stick with the free videos, and the free bonus clips.
